Every incarnation of Star Trek features them - probably every Star Trek fan is aware of them: Phasers, Tricorders, PADDs. These often used devices (called props) help to create and maintain the credibility of the show, act as support for the characters and the respective actors and are sometimes even part of the story itself.
This site is dedicated to collecting and - more importantly - to building these props, which appear in ST TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT and the movies.

Since prop building means shaping some kind of material most of the time, it is nice to have files in different sizes handy. Sandpaper is not always the best tool to get you going in the right direction, because it is always flexible even if you don’t want it to be. The most common shapes for files are: flat, round, half round and triangular.
